Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Tech Droid ERP / POS (“we”) handles information when you use our websites, mobile apps, and related services (“Services”). It is the single privacy policy for our platform and apps, including TechDroid Rider (pk.techdroid.rider), TechDroid Shops (ai.techdroid.shops and storefront paths such as /<storecode>/mobile), and the public courier booking page (/logistics/public/book).

If you use the Services for a business (“Merchant” / “Store”), that Merchant usually decides what customer and business data is stored. The Merchant is responsible for telling its customers how their information is used. Where a Merchant publishes its own Terms or Privacy page on its storefront, those Merchant pages may also apply to that Merchant’s customers; this policy still covers how the TechDroid platform processes data.

What we collect

• Account details — for example store ID / store code, username, name, roles, and login activity. For TechDroid Rider, this includes rider credentials issued by the Merchant. For TechDroid Shops / /mobile, this may include customer account and order history for that Merchant.
• Technical data — for example IP address, device model and operating system, app version, browser type, and cookies for sign-in.
• Location data (precise and approximate), including in the background in the TechDroid Rider app. See “Location data” below for when this is collected and why.
• Courier booking details — pickup and drop-off addresses and map coordinates, contact name/phone, package notes, and preferred pickup time you enter on the public booking page.
• Delivery activity (TechDroid Rider) — order status updates the rider makes (delivered, failed, attempt notes) and related delivery details.
• Data you or the Merchant enter while using the product (sales, inventory, customers, accounting, messages sent through enabled integrations).
• Camera images, only when you actively use a scanning or photo feature (for example scanning a barcode or capturing a receipt). Images are processed for that feature and are not used for any other purpose.
• Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging), used to deliver order and delivery notifications to your device.
• Messages you send to support.

Location data

We collect or use location data for delivery, ordering, and courier-booking features described here. Location is never used for advertising, and is never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

TechDroid Rider — foreground and background location

TechDroid Rider is a workforce app used by delivery riders who work for a Merchant. A rider signs in with a store code and rider credentials issued by that Merchant. While a rider is signed in, on shift, and set to “Online”, the app collects the device’s precise GPS location and sends it to that rider’s own Merchant so the Merchant can track active deliveries in real time, coordinate dispatch, and give customers accurate delivery status.

Collection continues in the background — when the app is minimized or the screen is off — for the duration of the shift, because riders keep the phone in a pocket or bag while driving. A persistent notification is shown while background tracking is active.

Your control: Location is collected in the background only while the rider is Online / on shift. The rider can tap Offline, or sign out, at any time to immediately stop all location collection and sharing. Location is not collected when the rider is Offline or signed out.

TechDroid Shops / storefront /mobile — foreground location only

TechDroid Shops (native app and the web storefront at paths such as https://…/<storecode>/mobile) is a customer shopping experience. With your permission, it reads your current location only while you are using the app or page, and only when you ask it to — for example when you tap to set your delivery location or find nearby stores. It does not collect location in the background. You can decline the permission and enter your address manually instead.

Public courier booking (/logistics/public/book) — on-demand, foreground only

The public courier booking page may ask the browser for your current location once, while you are on the page, so the map can centre near you and you can set a pickup point more easily. You can decline and place pins or search for addresses manually. Pickup and drop-off coordinates you choose (or that are derived from addresses you enter) are sent to the Merchant so they can quote, dispatch, and track the courier job. This page does not track you in the background after you leave.

How we use it

• To run and secure the Services, fix problems, and meet legal requirements.
• To show riders their assigned deliveries and enable navigation.
• To share a rider’s live location with their Merchant’s dispatch dashboard so the Merchant can coordinate deliveries and provide customers accurate delivery status.
• To quote, book, and track courier jobs on the public booking and tracking pages.
• To fulfil shop orders and set delivery addresses in TechDroid Shops / /mobile.
• To send order-assignment, delivery, and other service notifications.
• To communicate with you about the Services.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Rider location, delivery activity, and courier booking details are sent to the Merchant you are dealing with (that Merchant’s TechDroid POS backend) so the Merchant can dispatch and track deliveries. We may share data with vendors who host or help operate the Services under contracts (for example cloud hosting, map/geocoding providers used to resolve addresses, and Google Firebase for push notifications), or when required by law.

Third-party integrations the Merchant turns on are governed by those providers’ policies.

Retention & security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We keep data as long as needed for the Services and legal obligations. Live location and delivery records are retained by the Merchant for operational and historical delivery records. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can revoke location, camera, and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Riders can stop location sharing by going Offline or signing out. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Many requests must go through your Merchant if they control the account; you can also contact us using the details below and we will forward or action the request.

Children

The Services are not aimed at children. TechDroid Rider is intended for adult delivery staff.

Changes

We may update this policy and change the date above when we do.
